I think Michael Dell is getting cocky. First printers, now PDAs? The market is small, shrinking, and oversaturated with competitors.

Oh well, if they can make money, good for them. But I don't see how its possible.

I am not really huge on PDA's but, while this thing may have all the latest features, it just doesnt stand out at all. THere is nothing special about it. why bother?

Because with Dell's effeciency, they'll do it cheaper and faster than everyone else. This could really be the death knell for Handspring, and if that happens, Palm will be in serious trouble.

Notice that Dell switched to PocketPC when previous rumors predicted a PalmOS device. That is huge. A Dell PocketPC for the price of a Palm device. Ouch.

I'm surprised that I can't find any specs on this thing. Even the Dell site is seriuosly lacking on details. If they're available in 2 weeks, why can't i find the spec sheet or price?

Prepare for the Ad campaign, it should be relentless.

It looks really ugly but will probably be fast and cheap. I like my Tungsten T though. Eye catching design and upgradable OS.

Meh It hink PocketPC's have a better OS. Palms kinda suck. The new Zire is pretty sweet at $99 though.

I own a Handsrping; I bought it not knowing anything about the market/industry. Is the company going under? If so, I need to buy all the crap that I'll need until it is time to get a new PDA.

It would be perfect if it had a backlight.

From what I have heard these from Dell are supposed to be dirt cheap. Supposedly under $300 for an XScale processor PDA. At least it brings some competition and will force HP/Compaq and others drop their prices.
