I have a 1GHz Ti PB with superdrive.
I want to burn a DVD and when insert a DVD-RW (120 min, up to 2.4x compatible), the computers takes a while and then ejects it without any warning.
What's that? Why is it happening?

2.4X sounds like a DVD+RW, not a DVD-RW. DVD+RW is not the same thing as DVD-RW. You sure it's a DVD-RW?

Also, the original TiPB SD does not support DVD-RW burning anyway. You can get DVD-RW burning with a firmware hack though. See here.

The stock PB superdrive does not recognise DVD-RWs.

There is an non-Apple firmware update which will enable 2x DVD-R burning and 1x DVD-RW. You can find it at http://superdrive.cynikal.net/

You are right, it is DVD+RW, not DVD-RW. Now I tried with a DVD+R and it does the same. What's the difference between DVD-R and DVD+R?

Thanks for the link. Now I see the difference. Does anybody need some DVD+RW?
