I'm using my mini to download my Dishnetwork DVR files through the eyetv hybrid. I'd like to edit out the commercials before burning to DVD. Anyone know of a cheap/shareware barebones video editor to do simple cuts or do I have to pony up the cash for Final Cut?

Thanks, I haven't played with the EyeTV Software that much yet. After all, this is a Mac, who reads manuals?
I really like the hybrid. The only problem is the lack of an IR blaster like that on a TIVO so I have to change channels manually if I'm using my Dish receiver. It records beautifully off the antenna and the interface with TitanTV is very smooth.
It does use a lot of CPU (40-60%) on the 1.83 CoreDuo in the mini and I'm still dealing with fan problems until I can get to the Apple Store (as directed by phone support).
Interesting point to note, the mini is considered a desktop for support purposes so repairs and exchanges can't be done by mail without paying extra for Applecare. Have to haul the machine to Minneapolis.

Make sure you have the most current version of eyeTV. CPU usage should be nowhere near 60%
