This has been known for a while... as far as I know, all of the Core 2 Duo based products have the draft n hardware. Of course, there aren't any OSX drivers for it so you'll have to use Windows for the improved performance/range.

Do you think Apple will add the drivers when they release Leopard? and or iTV?

Apple will release drivers when the N-spec has been finalized. And who knows when that'll be. I'm sure they've got an updated 802.11n version of the Airport in the wings just waiting for the chance to get officially released.

Given the current 802.11n timeline, the final spec is over a year away (April 2008). I doubt Apple will wait that long, since so much of the competition is already offering the improved performance and range.

According to Appleinsider and various other sources, every single Macintosh that ships with a Core 2 Duo (currently the iMac, MacBook Pro, MacBook, and Mac Pro) has a draft N wireless card.

apple tends to do those things for a reason

I suspect they have plans to employ that hardware when N is finalized or when they need draft-N's bandwidth for something

They are thinking a couple years ahead

I'd put money on the Draft-N cards being there for iTV interoperability. SD will stream fine over G networks, but HD will tax a G network (especially with walls between devices). Steve is smart, and when he announces iTV and it's HD streaming and says "oh by the way, it works right now with all new MacBook Pro and Mac Pro's" everyone will cheer and applaud and fun will be had by all.
