Story here.

"Screw the (iPod) Nano," said Motorola CEO Ed Zander. "What the hell does the Nano do? Who listens to 1,000 songs? People are going to want devices that do more than just play music, something that can be seen in many other countries with more advanced mobile phone networks and savvy users."
Sounds like he's off his ROKR.

What a dork. What countries is he talking about? Countries where Motorola doesn't sell phones anyway? Japan might have the most advanced mobile phone networks and savvy users, but the iPod (all models) is a big hit here.

He's just sore that his Rokr (ooh, 100 songs) is a crappy product. Steve Jobs knew it too; he gave it second-billing to the Nano, and he demonstrated its usability problems on stage when he couldn't take a call and then keep playing his song.

yet he put iTunes on it..... somehow I think his issue taking a call and then playing his song was more user error... accident or purposeful is a whole other story though.... and then comes the Nano... hmm......

just my conspiracy theory
