Whoa! I didn't expect that, I figured it would be version 1.5! Any idea if people who registered SS 1.0 will be able to get this for free? If they don't, man, people are gonna be pissed...

This is a waste of a thread. People know it's coming out, well, most do. And there will be announcements when it does.

*Yawn*
People here sure love teasers, previews and the like.
It's a shame the finished product to preview ratio is so poor. Not that I have any doubts about the product in question here, I'm just generalising.
If I were working on a theme the first you lot would hear about it would be when it was released.
[ANN] New Topic.
Another thing I object to is the increasing misuse of the [ANN] abbreviation - I don't think that previews/teasers deserve [ANN]ouncing, just actual releases.
NetworkShadow, sorry to hijack your thread to moan like this.

Thanks, siMac, you said what I was trying to say better. Again, nothing personal to NS, but a (and it's hardly official) thread saying something is coming is silly, imo.
Enough with the previews and previews of previews and other ego stroking. Just release it and be done with it, or release betas/previews for comments, advice, suggestions.

excellent logo!
I had a whole rambling thing with using [WIP] instead of [ANN] for teasers... but...
EXCELLENT LOGO!
Is that a sign of things to come?

Yes, but it has the horizontal scan lines treatment, and the colors are much more saturated.

I'm gonna laugh if this update isn't as spectacular as everyone is making it. Geeze... a countdown... come on guys.
Oh... or "change everything" could be a hit that finally you'll be able to theme anything in OS X and that it has icon support or you can finally change the placement of elements or that you can change font sizes and fonts and the size of elements... who knows... if "change everything" really means what it says then it should be a pretty nice update.
I hope NickelCobalt comes out.

I'm counting down to extinction.
Oh yeah! I did have something say.
Let's hope we get some good themes with this one. There are a couple that just dropped off that I hope come out.
All I want in this one one thing: text color control. If that works, then black themes will actually work.
Another feature that'd be awesome would be having applications X use theme Y instead of theme Z, but not be Aqua. Let's say I got a theme that messes up PS. APE loads that theme when it boots instead of the one that was set in global prefs. Icon changing and all that stuff really doesn't matter to me. Maybe a better interface would do.
Only 5 days or something I guess. Hold on: 26-21=5. Yeah.

Just FYI, I asked Network Shadow to post this thread. This is the official countdown thread, intended for speculation or bitching or whatever. We're all pretty excited about the release and figured it'd be fun to have a central place for it.
'Kay, back to your regularly scheduled program!

oohhh... cool!!
i wasn't expecting SS 2 to be out yet. but this should be very good...
as for one feature - remember that thread a while back, with a whole bunch of us trying to hide the menubar? and then smeager came along and said "dont' spend too much time on this..." well, that's going to be a very nice feature. and who know's what other new features there will be?
BTW, that's a question - and i want answers.

Jason actually asked NS to post this thread. He asked for teasers and chose one of NS', one of mine and one of I'mDaMac's. (sorry if that's typed wrong)
So it is the "official" hype thread.

Not to ruin anybody's fun or marginalize this release but... isn't "Change Everything" the official tag line of ShapeShifter? If so, it's not a portending of greatness so much as a continuation of an existing theme (no pun intended).
These hype threads usually result in raised hopes and shattered expectations. I'm just going to expect some marginal new features and maybe I'll be surprised and delighted
I'm hoping for the ability to change icons since I consider that the realm of theme changing but don't consider it important enough to shell out additional bucks for on it's own.
Congrats on the impending completion Smeger, I'm sure you've poured your soul into it and it's going to be solid.

Lynched? What are you talking about? The completed sentence is:
I'm Alpha and you are Centauri.
What's the big deal?

SS2.0 actually began life as SS1.3 - the feature(s) I'm waiting on were targeted for SS1.5 (SS2.? under the new numbering theme)...
I'm currently harassing the J-man about directly hacking in a glaring omission or two so I can get this f*cker off of my hard drive and out into the world - but if that doesn't work out I guess it's a wait for SS2.?... I'm also coming off of the busiest year of my life with a new infant (the second one in as many years - screaming, always screaming), so try and cut me some slack. In the meantime I've got a handful of nearly finished themes I'm working on, so something's bound to turn up eventually.

To the boss, Mr Smeg, thanks for the energy man, it's been really exciting watching this product grow.
To BBX grats on the little 'un man I believe the junior is like 2 weeks old, hoding thumbs that you get some sleep and remind the digital yoda's mantra "water off a ducks back"

All i can say is bring it on
I hope that with this release themers will not hold back on app skins especially iTunes.
I have noticed that alot of themes have not even touched iTunes skinning and i hope this will change.

BBX, take all the time you need man. Real life always comes first, so enjoy all the time you want with your kid, and cool for us if there's some to spare for your theme. You don't owe anyone here any excuses or reasons for why Omega isn't out yet...
2005 will be BBX year!!!

Me too. That has to be the best, easiest to find, and uncluttered image I've ever found. I didn't even have to PS that one!
Good to here only 2 or 3 things are missing for O themebut that leaves one question: how big are these "things?"

Fan?
New Preview looks awesome.
Anyone know what fonts are used? I think that the Shapeshifter text looks something like House Spaceage Bold Alpha. But what are the other fonts?

The font I used for the "3" and tag-lines is Xserve, it's free but I can't remember where I got it. Sorry.
