Despite Gates' redeeming qualities (being an intelligent risk-taker who has probably given away more money to good cause than anyone else) he is definitely more nerdy. Just listening to him talk makes me cringe.

Dell is the bigger tool. Gates is the bigger nerd. But neither one is worthy of the name "Dork".

Gates seems like a decent guy. I think Mac users dislike him cuz he's Microsoft, and people in general dislike him, no, envy him because he uses $100 bills for insulation in his home.

The funny thing is that even with all those billions of dollars, he still can't dress nice. He's a nerd, through and through.

Dell has at least 50 pounds on Gates. Therefore, he's the bigger dork.

I also think Gates is a nerd, not a businessman. MS is run by others (I get sick when I have to think of this name, so I don't). Actually when you read inside stories about Gates, you'll learn that he is intelligent, informed and knows what he is talking about as long as he is talking about software.

Dell is a clever businessman who does not care about the quality of his products as long as they make money. He's double clever because everyone knows and no one cares (at least his crap is sold). He just sells what can be sold. No profile, no personality.

None of the two is a dork.

I think neither, look at what both have done. Regardless of the pot shots that michael dell has (and will) taken he has done somehting that few people could ever imagine. He's a smart and savvy business man that has built a tiny mail order pc busines into a juggernaught.

Gates did the same, he licensed DOS to IBM even before he himself owned the rights to DOS and then parlayed that into MS-DOS and took advantage of competitor's missteps. He also crushed competitors or bought them outright.

that's capitalism and both are shining examples of how Americans do business

Dell is the bigger dork here. Didn't he make some sort of comment about closing Apple and buying back all their shares in the late 90's?
