I moved some applications to my Windows machine because I needed to free some space to partition my MBP drive for Boot Camp. I then copied them back. They work normally on an account with Admin rights but if I log in to a guest account the icons are incorrect and they cannot be started. I tried fixing the permissions. First, I changed the permissions on the base file/package. Then I opened the package and set read permissions for the entire contents. That didn't work.

Is there a way to fix them back to their original permissions?

Run Disk Utility and a permissions check, I think that would fix things.

I forgot to mention that. Disk utility did not fix the issues.

Have you tried a permissions repair from the guest account?

Yes. I tried that first. I just tried again in the Admin account but that didn't do it.

Have you tried a different guest account? I'm assuming by guest you just mean a limited user...

If the apps in question weren't installed using Apple's Installer, Repair Permissions will not have any effect on them.

All of the apps were not installed with Apple's installer.
