Might be off topic, but I don't know where to post.

If I own www.myname.com can I forward it to my homepage.mac.com account?

If so how? What if I registered my domain with my current hosting company. Can I change it still?

Thanks!

Since your .mac account is hosted on a virtual server, you'll need to set up a separate hosting arrangement and either have a http re-direct or put your .mac home pagein an invisible frame.

You can see how this works by going to my domain which is www.vincent-williams.co.uk and viewing the source. The page displayed is my .mac home page.

Hope this helps.

I do the same thing (click on my link for an example). I had it set not to show the .Mac address but I changed that so the iTMS link would work.

You have to pay for .Mac but if you buy a domain, you should get the option to do a redirect on it.

Technically, the redirection is done by a web server using HTTP.

So you have the following:
1. A registered domain name
2. Domain name service (DNS) with entries pointing www., etc. to a server's IP address
3. A server (virtual web host) with an index.html file having the invisible frame or just a straight redirect to your .mac page.
