All kidding aside (sorry SWF, the title just seemed appropriate), this looks very cool to me.

The iwoodnano.com case looks like something I would definately buy if I had an iPod Nano. (Actually, it has me inspired to make a wooden cas for my 60 GB iPod.)

Available in: Maple, Mahogany, Pear, Wenge', and Walnut.

What do you guys think? Cool?

While that does look quite cool, I think its been done before several times. I just don`t remember where, and am too lazy to google for it.

I don't doubt it. But these guys are making a high enough quality looking product to have caught my eye. Previous attempts have seems amatuerish or just plain tacky.

That's what has me on edge... no price announcement. If it's cheap enough, I'll buy one instead of making one.

the correct spelling of 'ridiculous' with the emphasis on the I so people quit spelling the word with a ****ing E.

I think it's an interesting accessory-considering that the Nano is small enough to allow the case to be practical instead of clunky (imagine a wooden case for a Photo iPod...). I am not going for a Nano, though, so for me it's still just "interesting."

Oh, I thought you just made a typo like a lot of people do. I should have just assumed you were perfect. Except your grammar that is eh?

I'm not perfect. But I don't mix up quiet and quite and spell ridiculous with a god damn 'e', or confuse 'accept' and 'except' like the majority of people these days.

Sorry guy. I am not gay.

Also, try to be a little more original.

And stick to the topic. Try not to derail it.

Well.... that's out...

Schagen, the Netherlands, 14-10-2005

Dear iWood friends,

Thank you for your interest. The response to our product is overwhelming.
Due to the manufacturing process the iWood never will be a mass product. Every iWood is sculpted in high precision from a single piece of wood, a very time consuming process. All wood is obtained from well-managed forests, and FSC-certified.

We want to take this opportunity to inform you about our plans.

Before we put up an order page on our website, we want to give you, as an iWood friend, the chance to place your order in advance. Supply will be very limited in the upcoming period, so be quick to respond. All you need to do is reply to this mail and in return we'll send you a code to use when you place your order of purchase.

In a couple of days we will update our website with new options. The ordering section will be up, allowing our customers to choose their taste of wood based on clear pictures, indicate their monogram, and type in their two lines of text to be engraved. All is presented in a clear preview.
And we will announce an iWood for the new video iPods.

We'll also introduce the iWood Heritage line. Sometimes we can obtain small amounts of very rare wood, barely enough for two or three iWoods. The iWoods produced from this special wood will each be shown in the Heritage section. The iWood Heritage will have a serial number and a certificate with the known history of this particular piece of wood. For instance, we make iWoods from 200 year old extremely tough British oak. The iWood Heritage will be available from prices of $175 and up, depending on the exclusiveness of the wood and the production effort.

Pricing and availability
The iWood nano starts with €75/$90 plus shipping for the ecology friendly types of wood. Varieties include maple, pear, walnut and others.
Engraving the monogram and message each €10/$12.
iWood Heritage is available for $175 and up.

So, don't forget to pre-order your iWood today. Reply to this mail to get in front of the line.

Thank you for your interest and we'll keep you posted!

Best regards,

Peter Kolkman
