I changed the password of the owner account and now I can't log in.
Thanks in advance.

Start with extensions off and throw out the Multiple Users preferences.
The multi-user system in OS 9 is weak and easy to bypass...

Booting without extensions still prompts for the owner's password to access the Finder :-(

I've head that you can boot off another volume to bypass the multi-user thing. I've also had problems when I change a username too. The system will not recognize the new username.. although I have not had any problems with the owner account. I would recommend never changing a username... just delete it and start over.

That's what I ended up doing, booting off of a CD and deleting the Multi-User preferences file.
