Is it possible for iTunes to watch certain folders and automatically add new mp3's or aac's to your library?
More specifically, if one user buys or imports music, is it possible to have it show up in all other user's libraries?

you might be able to do this with folder actions and the "add to itunes library" applescript from this page.

Something is on the way . We're working on a helper app for iTunes that can watch a folder and add new music every so often and will also make backups of the music library. Any other feature requests you think this app should have?
I'll keep you posted . It seems like at least a few people are interested in this type of functionality in iTunes.

Ok I modified the apple script, just attach this script to a folder (using folder actions), and whenever music is added it will play in itunes (if a song isn't currently playing)...

Haven't completely tested it yet but it seems to work ok.
