Hi all, have a question regarding the MS Remote Desktop Connection Client:
From the Mactopia website, it says:
The following Windows products support Remote Desktop connections:
Windows XP Professional
Windows Server 2003
Windows 2000 Server
Windows 2000 Advanced Server
Windows 2000 Datacenter Server
Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition
So does it mean that the Client does not work on WinXP Home systems?
Thanks~
Andre

No.
You are able to remote desktop from a XP home edition machine but not to a XP home edition machine.
Only XP pro and the other listed OS's are able to host the remote desktop connection.

home edition has no remote desktop function.
I had tried it between my powerbook and IBM T40, it works great and very easy to configure.

May I ask how you did it? I'm trying every once in a while but never got it to work. It always says that a connection is not possible. I try from a G4 w/ panther to a T40 as well.

Right click on my computer -> properties. Click on Remote tab. Check for the remote desktop setting there.

I have added myself to the remote desktop user, but still unable to connect to the thinkpad. I can ping it, exchange files with ftp, but still a nogo with rdc.
EDIT: I've solved the problem, I had the built-in firewall turned on. Turned it off now and oh wonder it works!

It's kinda sucky that it won't work on XP Home, which is what I have on my PC at home.
