I found this over at iPod lounge. Apparently quite a few other people noticed this before it was taken down, so I don't think it's fake. (The photoshop icon in the taskbar is suspicious nonetheless)

Funny...But I'm gonna vote it's fake...Photoshop and wordperfect...so he can match the font and put it in...a thought...then his AIM away message is "working" working looking at ipod shuffles? It's totally possible, but i'm gonna say it's a fake. when i take screenshots i open paint (too cheap for PS) after i've taken it..

It was real.

I saw it while it was on the Apple site after the shuffle's release, but removed after a day or so. It was a footnote from the "smaller than a pack of gum" picture at the top left.

Noticed it too the first day the shuffle came out.

I was chuckling while I imagined someone in the legal department, after seeing the initial comparison to the chewing gum package, being afraid of some inevitable, unbelievably stupid law suit that's just bound to turn up in a certain country

I wouldn't be surprised if some overweight American sees the Shuffle/Gum comparisson, and goes out and tries to scarf one down. I'm not joking, this is in the realm of possibility.

i think when you put it next to a pack of gum some people just don't understand

i dont find this to be strange at all. it's so small that people can mistake it for a lot of things.
