I bought Pod Racer for my iMac's and iBook yesterday and decided to try and install it on my 8500 with a 604e/233 and rage orion accelerator card, eventhough the box states that the game requires a G3/ iMac or better. To my suprise the game installed and ran. The only problems were with the Cut Scenes they play full frame for about 5 seconds then loose frame rate (Not a problem) The game runs on the 8500 as well as it does on both the iMacs and the iBook.

For those of you who have a 604e based machine around the house with at least 233mhz and a graphics card, it looks as if you will be in luck.

Cheers!

Update on Pod Racer on Non G3:

I decided to try and resolve the movie problem on the 8500 and when I looked into the extentions folder I notice that I still had Quicktime 3 installed (Oops!) when I updated to QT 4, VIOLA! the movies played. So it looks as if Lucas Arts may have overestimated their program a little bit. Then again it could have been a ploy to get people to upgrade to G3 systems.

Cheers!
