I'm wondering how I can hide a folder that does not reside in the same volume as the system. I have created a .hidden file on this volume and listed the directory in it but this didn't work. Neither did adding it to the .hidden file on the boot volume (in the form of /volumes/drive2/HideMe). How can I do this? I want to hide the Desktop Folder for this volume. Thanx

Try setting the invisible bit for the directory.

/Developer/Tools/SetFile -a V "/Volumes/drive2/Desktop Folder"

I used the quotes since Desktop Folder has a space in it. Naturally, this requires the Developer Tools be installed.

Thanx a mil! I can't believe I never looked in the Dev Tools for such a utility.
