Has anyone found a solution for uploading mp3s to their mac from the samsung yepp player (I have the YP30-SH 128meg). The manager software that is included has some ridiculous security feature( i dont see what they have to gain by implementing secumax in their products)that prevents you from doing so. Has anyone gotten any other software to work with their yepp. Also support for the voice fils on the mac would be nice too. I havn't had any luck with itunes either.

I HAVE THE ANSWER!!!
Simply take the ".mp3" off of the end, and it doesn't recognized the song as an mp3 for some reason...then just hit "copy to mac" or whatever! it worked for me!!

I'm at work right now and it doesn't work on a pc either. Are you sure it was an mp3 file. You can copy any file you want off the yepp as long as it isn't a mp3 or sm3 file. I think secumax reads the file header for info on the file type so changing its extension will have no affect ( that might have worked with older copy protection, but we're past the 90's now, hehe, I'm sure they thought of that) I believe bypassing this lame security feature will require a hack of some sort for the yepp manager software or possilbly an itunes plugin. Has anyone got their yepp to work with itunes by the way. I found a plugin on the samsung website, but it appears to be for the yp90 model only and I havn't gotten it to work. Any help is appreciated...thanks

I've got an iMac DV with 9.1. I am positive that it was an mp3. If you rename the file (maybe a couple times) the icon goes to a blank white one instead of the mp3 icon.
i've done this twice already

I'm curious what software you are using to transfer files with...the yepp manager, itunes, etc... ( i believe only the yp-90 is compatible with itunes since the software is labeled for use with only that model and i havnt had any luck trying to connect my player, the yp-30SH, with itunes). Also what player do you have. My experience with the yepp manager is that it adds the mp3 extension to the file name once the file is uploaded to the player...even if I try and rename the file when it's on the player (through the yepp manager) it still changes the file name to include the mp3 extension when the manager screen refreshes. So, I assume the file header is being read to determine the file type....I'm not sure why its working for you. Possibly something with OS 9.1...but that still doesn't make sense why your mp3 player wouldn't change the file name...since it plays the file it obviously recognizes it as an mp3, right? I'm thinking that the security resides in the software so hopefully someone with some coding skills will help us out with a secumax disabling update <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
