I have placed 4-5 folders within another folder. 2 folders named music and food went and stay at the top and others have gone in the middle alphebetized. Anyone know how this works? thanks Ken

What are the exact titles of the folders? Characters such as spaces or numbers will place a name on top of a list that's in alphabetical order.
Also, is your list set to view by name or some other criteria (size, date created, etc.). If it's not by name, it might just be a coincidence that the others are in alphabetical order.

Thanks Patrick, yeah I found out that by placing a space before word, it will bubble up the folder to the top. ( which I want)
Now do they put that in the manuals? thanks Ken

It is in the manual. A space comes before any of the letter in the ASCII table which is what determines aphabetical order on a computer. Using other characters (control characters mostly) you can push items to the bottom of the sort order. I use this to control the position of items in my Apple Menu. Yeah I know but SoftRAID doesn't work in X...yet.
