I tried to play the Panther video presentation (large version) on an iBook 700 and to my surprise, it's not fast enough : the audio/video get out of sync, and it's dropping a lot of frames. Can IBook 900 and IBook G4 owners try to watch the video (in 1:1 size and fullscreen, and report their experience. I'm pretty sure the G4 iBook will do it, but don't really know about G3 800/900...

The video is here. (Please try the large version)

A friend tried the video on an old G4 400 and it's very smooth even in fullscreen 1600x1200. I guess altivec helps a lot...

I don't see anyone reporting iBook performance in this thread... what's the point?

Judging from the flawless performance of the movie on my iBook, I assumed this thread to be a trick into making me watch that gawd-awful movie again.

Sheesh, tough crowd..

As some people are reporting it's working fine on their iBook 700, I tried again. And finally found what was happening : the first time I tried, I was using battery power, and the iBook is configured to run at reduced speed when on battery Power. If I plug the power adapter, audio/video are in sync Otherwise, when running on battery power (reduced speed) the audio/video gets out of sync.
