I'm trying to get some French children's TV shows for my daughter and was wondering if there is any way to access the foreign TV shows through iTunes (I'm in the US). Specifically, I'm wondering if the French version of Sesame Street (Rue Sesame) is available.

thanks!

Typically not via 'official' channels. Due to licensing issues, each store has it's own inventory of shows and music and without a billing address in the specific country you want content, you typically can't get it. And even then I'm not sure that loophole still works.

I would be happy to get any language TV shows via iTunes here legally!

Well, when I was in Greece this September I was able to make purchases from the US iTunes music store without problem. I even opened a bank account in Greece with a debit card using my father's Greek address and opened a Greek iTunes store account and I am able to make purchases from the Greek store here in the US as well. So it appears the "loophole" still works.

I just transfer funds from my US bank to the Greek account electronically from time to time.

location is irrelevant, you jut need a credit card with a billing address in the country you want to purchase from.

I would prefer if Apple had an "International" ITMS to cater for this type of scenario.

I would not even mind if the items were priced at a premium to keep everyone happy.

Licensing would be a complete and utter nightmare.

It already is a complete and utter nightmare - hence the multitude of national stores.

The crazy thing is that when I order prints or books from iPhoto can only be delivered to the country matching the billing address is in.

So I can't get gift items printed and sent abroad for birthdays etc, I have to get them delivered to me in Hong Kong and then post them myself across the world.

Can anyone find a good reason for that?
