Thought I would share something I just figured out with Library 2. Hopefully I'm not repeating common knowledge...
If you import an exported text file (say from Bookpedia) into Library 2 it won't automatically load the cover image from Amazon and that great 'refresh from the internet" is greyed out and disabled...
Here are the steps (wish there was a script...) that will load the cover image and enable that refresh from Amazon feature..
Select a book
Right click and select View on Amazon (which will do a search)
Click on the right book in the Amazon search results
Look up in the address field of the browser and find something like: dp/1591840562
That number, which can include letters, is the ASIN (
Amazon Standard Identification Number)
Copy that ASIN to the clipboard
Switch back to Library 2
Make sure you are viewing Details
Click the edit button
Click next to "amazon link"
Paste in the ASIN and press Enter.
The cover image is loaded and you get a details refresh from Amazon immediately.
If there was a built-in feature to do this, I sure could not find it...
