Hi, I need to make a script for someone than can reduce images to a certain width and height.
Example:

User bring his camera, copy the photos to the desktop.
Drop the folder to an aplication or script and he gets another folder with the images with the desire size.

All photos will be landscape, so the width and height will be the same always and also will be 72 dpi.

Any idea of a really easy to use aplication that can do this or a script that can help ?

If the aplication is free, better, as its not a really daily thing to do or if someone can help or point to a script, its nedded to work as it, not a photoshop script or something like that.

Thanks in advice.

In Photoshop CS 2 you could create an action set that would achieve precisely what you're looking for. You'd simply open up the file, hit a button and the computer would do the work.

I do not use the GIMP but you may want to look into whether it has similar capabilities.

You can go another step further with recording the resizing action on a single photo, and then there is an option to save the action as a drag-and-drop applciation that will follow your action. It is really an amazing technology for making thumbnails.

As I said, not a photoshop action, I want something light, not having them using photoshop and buying it to make just that.

Anyone else ?

Thanks.

Thx Mitchell.

For anyone looking in something similar I end up with Resize X.

Free and makes the job well.

Mostly Photoshop users here. Given that fact this app probably won't see much interest 'round these parts.
