Hi,

I have an old 700Mhz eMac that I want to pass onto my 8-year-old daughter.

I would like her to have wireless internet access as she has no phone point in her room. I understand the 700mhz EMac requires the old Airport (not Airport extreme) card, which is quite expensive, even on eBay.

Does anyone have any cheap solutions to getting a wireless connection, possibly by recommending a third part card?

dlink makes a cheap usb wifi adaptor that will work on it. I cant remember the model number i think it was dwl 115 maybe.

Pretty much any USB adapter with a Broadcom chipset should work.

Airport cards aren't THAT expensive. They just still cost $80 to $100 like when they were new. Otherwise, find a USB to 802.11 converter that works with OSX as suggested.

that's still more than DOUBLE the cost of a usb adaptor.

and no warranty.
