I remember a while ago that i think sun was previewing an OS where you could flip windows around, make notes on them, and have a fully interactive 3-d desktop. Anyone remember this? does this ring any bells? I remember seeing a small movie about it.

notes on a window's back. Cool idea. But is it functional? I don't think I would use it at all.
I would like to see a suped-up clip board rather then a new spin on post-it notes.

Looking Glass seems to be a solution looking for a problem. Might be fun to play with though and I'm sure we'll all be gushing in our panties when Steve demos the Apple version in 10.5.

It's not entirely impractical nor is it really a bad idea. For example if it was implemented in Photoshop, you could store information about the photo/graphic you're working on, say when you shot the photo and who's in it. Or what exactly a graphic is for. Kind of like stickies for certain files.

I hear you but photoshop already has a note tool that can even record audio.

Maybe it should just edit the Spotlight comments of a particular file, allowing you to link files and folders into projects would be good.
This would be very cool.
