The commentary is hilarious! I can hardly understand anything he's saying, and I can usually handle "thick" accents! Ha!

Other than that -- HOLY CRAP!

Spectacular videos, reminds me of the taxi drivers in NYC.

I've played far too many racing games for this to phase me. As an added bonus, I found the framerate a little low.

Because I wasn't, and the affects of placebo and nocebo are relevant to the discussion? Listen to the opening bit where he tells everyone he'll be talking fast, then goes on about placebo.

If you watch a second time, he's not talking fast.

A preconceived notion has a remarkable affect on your ability to assimilate information with what you think is fast.

He's not talking fast the first time around. Neither is he hitting 200 over the mountain.

They've obviously studied the course and generally know the turns. Also, as you're going faster, you brain works differently in reaction, attention, and retention of detail.

I'm not saying it's not extremely difficult or it's not fast, it's just not as fast as you're making it out to be. I think you're just fooling yourself into thinking it is, hence the video.

I used to ride motorcycles. You don't have to go fast to genuinely scare the poo out of yourself-you just have to get some really good leans going and have the road make you switch back and forth. It's sort of like seasickness that way. If you add fast to it, that's really, really scary. These riders on the Isle of Man are quite batty. More so than flat-track motorcycle racers, more than motocross riders, more than (I think) bicycle messengers during rush hour. Extremely off their rockers.

I didn't think the commentary was particularly fast. I spent more effort trying to localize the accent than keeping up. And I though Ben Goldacre was hillarious, whatever his subject matter. His presentation itself was much of the humor.

If my children buy a motorcycle, I will completely understand. And then I will burn it. If they buy another one, I will burn that one too.

Ummm, dude... ...17:26 around the mountain? It's fast. If you don't think it is, you probably don't own a driving licence.

The 17:26 around the mountain thing reminds me of that scene from Beavis and Butthead Do America where the Hoover Dam tour guide is going on about how many gallons of water pass through the dam, and Butthead says "uh, that's not very much".
