I would like to buy an iSight but I would like to know several things before.

Does iSight work with Yahoo Messanger in order to make a video chat?

Is there a possibility that I can use it as a webcam for a website and therefore monitoring what happens in my fish tank...

Since ichat AV will cost $30, is there a possibility that they make a "combo" - OS X.3 + iSight? Have they done such a thing in the past?

Thanks.

Ok, here are some answers.

1. I don't know.

2. Yes, two ways pop into my head: QuickTime Streaming Server and Image Capture's sharing module in 10.3.

Use the QT Streaming Server in conjunction with QT Broadcaster.

Or: in 10.3 one can share a digital camera, and even set it up so that it takes pictures periodically.

3. You never know what the marketing people at Apple will do.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

To add to what Oreo said about #2, there's also a great little app called EvoCam. You can do all kinds of stuff with it, including live web cam stuff.

Evocam even includes the ability to act as a web server, so you can host streaming video if your connection is fast enough. Very easy to use and inexpensive.
