"DAVE 3.1.1 is a free update for customers currently running DAVE 3.1. This update includes support for bi-directional PostScript printing in Mac OS X, clear text passwords, and LMHOSTS files."
I went to their site, the download link doesn't seem to be working yet.

Update at your peril and wtach the sudden appearance of kernel traps and kernel panics, none of which happened before.
Then try and run the uninstaller!
Then again, I may have been spectacularly unlucky here, but I doubt it. The updated netbios kernel appears to need a little bit of a fix.

Kernel panics are the fault of the OS, even iv they're provoced by an third party application (you might want to rport each to Apple).
And then I remember bi-directional printing from dot-matrix printers... ahh good ol' times

You can check this by looking at the KP and look for Thursby or Dave if you see either of these amongst the mess it was daves fault and not Apples.
Cheers Edwin
p.s. (Kernel Extensions if they crash will bring down the OS so it is better if you app does not need one or if it does it has to be bug free.)

I kinda wonder if I need Dave anymore with 10.2. Browsing an Windows network was about all I bought a Dave 3.1 upgrade for anyway.

(For the time being I have enough with Apple's faults in their own extensions though).
