I have aPodium coolPad and my TiBook sits at an angle (3 levels of risers in the back).

If I burn CDs at this angle, will it be a problem? Should the PB be flat?

I am burning VERY important archives (2 or 3 copies) before heading overseas for 10 months.

Any thoughts?

the laser is at the same angle no matter how much you tilt it.

i elevate my tibook as well, so i can see your concern...just take it off the podium if you're scared

The cube and some other computers have vertically mounted CD-RW drives, so I don't think it makes any real difference, I would be more concerned about not moving the computer and about what kind of blank media you use.

The CD's will be fine so long as you don't move the PowerBook violently during burns.

Seriously, though. Unless you're changing the angle at which the drive is spinning rapidly causing read/write errors, CD's will come out fine. Even moving the machine is fine if you do it slowly and carefully.
