If this has been asked, my apologies. I didn't come up with anything from doing a search.

Since using Safari 2.0, I see a lot of diamond-shaped characters interspersed with text, which indicates Safari can't display the intended character (see image below - in this case, it's the apostrophe that Safari is not displaying). I haven't been able to figure out why, or how to resolve it. Could it be something in the character set that got messed up when upgrading?

I get a lot of this too, only since upgrading to Tiger. Any fix would be highly appreciated. It's almost like Safari 2.0's auto-select for character sets isn't working...

I get it EVERY time w/ expose (when it's printed the way Apple writes it).

Just to note that websites like these very forums seems to be encoded with Western ISO Latin 1 but the actual web code says "UTF-8", hence Safari messes with stuff like á or é.

[edited: actually, the post contents are UTF-8, is the side bar info below the nick that is Western ISO Latin 1]

Hmm... I switched Safari to UTF-8 in the prefs, but I still get the weird question mark in the diamonds.
