Don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but a Macintosh plays a pivotal role in this movie. Reese Witherspoon's rich, blonde, California-girl character goes to Harvard Law School in order to win back her snobby boyfriend -- hilarity ensues. Anyway, on the first day of class, everyone else breaks out their laptops to take notes; Reese pulls out a little heart-shaped pad and pen. After a bad day of classes, she decides to prove to everyone how capable she really is. She goes to the bookstore and -- I applauded in the theatre -- buys a tangerine iBook.

Much humor is then derived at the sight of Reese and her iBook sitting in the middle of a sea of black, anonymous PC laptops. But Reese, of course, overcomes all obstacles, thus proving once again that right-thinking people use Macintoshes.

I think that was the point of the movie, anyway.

But that's the whole point of the movie -- she's not a "dumb blonde." Everyone expects her to be, and that's why her snobby boyfriend dumps her, but she proves she's just as smart (or smarter) than the rest of them. With the help of her iBook, of course.
