I just can't believe that over the course of those 3 hours it occurred to no one to let her come back on stage and let her give her speech until the very end of the show. Furthermore, in spite all the negative press Kanye is getting he got to play the dead mom card tonight on TV to illicit some sympathy and retain media attention for one more news cycle.
This actually does make some sense, but also its a bit on that conspiracy theory side. Either way both parties win. Both get lots of publicity and everyone in the industry involved wins.

I'm sure people get up on stage to purposely make fools of themselves, and damage their reputation, all the time.
He's apologized on Leno's new show, which seemed to be heartfelt, but here's the best response yet.

I was just pointing out how it was a win-win situation in the end. For any of it to have been planned would have required only two people to have agreed to it, West and someone involved in the production of the show. Everything else could have just been improvised as the night progressed. I am sure there was no way to anticipate how it would have gone over. It may have snowballed from what they expected. Who knows.
But Taylor Swift didn't get out of her seat when that impromptu moment with Beyonce. She was already waiting at the side of the stage.
Plus, can anyone remember one of the VMAs in the past 5 years where they didn't have some stunt pulled?

You seem to take no issue with it. It happens every time you open your mouth.
Kanye West at least gets publicity when he does it.

There's truth here. I see a lot of thugs are backing Kanye's actions, and those seem to be his fan base.

So Beyonce and kanye were in on the stunt, kanye gets great publicity for his upcoming tour (which I assume a lot of people had not heard of that might take an interest), and the entire rest of the world that has never even heard of Taylor Swift now at least has an idea she exists.
Show business as usual.

Swift's music and videos are mediocre, while Beyonce's recent music and videos are terrible. So I think Swift deserved it more.

You're still missing the point!?
Nobody "deserves" any of this. Nobody has cared in ten years.

I just watched Kanye's apology of sorts on Leno's show: watch on Hulu.
He's wrong for what he did, he made a complete fool of himself, and he is suffering a backlash from it. If it was staged, I don't think it's going to have quite the positive impact that they thought it would.
BUT I did feel a little sorry for him in his apology. He seems to feel really sheepish about it all (again, if it wasn't staged).

I still like him. The whole thing was obviously wrong in every way, but I don't think it makes him a terrible person. We all have embarrassing moments when we act out of line and we all have times we wish we wouldn't be held accountable for. We all make mistakes and do stupid **** from time to time...he just does it on a much larger scale under a public microscope. How many times have any of us judged someone, called someone out, criticized someone (most likely while being drunk) and wish we wouldn't have done it and felt genuinely sorry for it after the fact? None of us have to deal with it and apologize to 50 million people though.
Again, I'm not trying to defend his actions because they were wrong, I just feel like there may be a bit of an overreaction going on. Maybe because it happened to a dainty, pretty little country girl. Maybe if he had done it to Fall Out Boy or Lil Wayne or someone like that it wouldn't have been such a big deal? Who knows.
The fact that Beyonce's video probably was better than Taylors (I don't know, haven't seen either of them) and the people at MTV got it completely wrong seems to be lost on everyone.

It was done on live television not in some dark corner at a private party.
There was no need for anyone to put him under a microscope when he's goes out of the way to be in the spotlight.

Not a single solitary time. If i do that its warranted.

Kanye's a pretty big @sshole, but this DJ is a close second. Come to think of it he may actually be a bigger @sshole since (1) he was sober and (2) he continues to try to pretend he's just doing what any good DJ would do.
I have to say I didn't know much about Swift before this whole thing, but I'm impressed that she handles herself for being so young. I just hope she doesn't go all Brittney in a few years.

Another reason why I just replaced the radio in my car with one that features an auxiliary jack, so I can take my 120GB classic, and never have to listen to these morons again.
