My mac (b/w gthree / 8.6) has begun exhibiting a peculiar behavior: every 4 minutes, it locks up (mouse still works) for aprox. 10 seconds. I zapped, rebuilt the desktop, and still get the same annoting problem. Any thoughts?

If you have macos9 or later (9.04) open the Servers folder in the system folder, and trash the contents. If you dont have macos9 then open the prefs folder, and trash AppleShare PDS file. Also, how do you connect to the internet?

Oscar,
Thanks for the reply. I'm using 8.6, connected with a cable modem (ATT @Home). I was having connection troubles when the problem occured. Since I've solved those problems, it seems to have stopped "choking" but I'm still leary.
