A note for Mac OS 9 users outside the USA.
Just a note about the "DVD Player 2.2" hot-link listed on today's MacNN.
This link takes you to AppleTechNote 11625 - The "English-North American" version of Apple's "DVD Player 2.2" software. This version does not install on "Mac OS 9.0.4 International English" systems. (I suppose this might be to control playback of difference DVD Region encoded discs). There is no easy way to identify which version of Mac OS 9.0.4 you are actually using (English-North American or English-International). On previous versions of the Mac OS under the Apple Menu "About This Computer" English-Interntional systems the version number would include the "Z-"... not with Mac OS 9.0.x.
For those people a "Mac OS 9.0.4 English-International" system you need to download the "English-International" version of Apple's "DVD Player 2.2". The link for this file can be found at AppleTechNote 11624. Unfortunately... both the MacBinary and Binhex links don't work... the files obviously aren't available. I guess they will be soon.
