I'm in the market for a mini-stereo system, and they seem to have good deals on overstock.com. Has anyone ever purchased anything from there?

I ordered from them previously, shipping was a little slow but otherwise I had no problems.

I've had no problems with them. I've only bought books and DVDs though.

I wouldn't invest in them, but they're fine for buying things from. Get the hot deals now, because the way they run the company it may be out of business soon enough.

I've purchasd furniture from them - no problems whatsoever.

The largest purchases = a king sized bed stand and two night stands. Both were high quality and arrived without issue. However, not all their prices are as good as they advertise. I've seen some stuff on there you can actually get less elsewhere.

So if you know exactly what your looking for, its definitely worth it. Also, if you are getting a big ticket item (not sure how much your stereo system is), consider joining their "buyers club". When I got the bed stand, the savings I got from joining more than offset the cost of the membership.

Same here. I bought a computer armoire, bookshelf (both solid wood-no cheap stuff), lamps, jewelry, etc. They have *excellent* customer service. As stated by macroy, their prices are not always competitive, so shop around for the item you need.
