Everyone likes getting something for nothing, especially when there's no or relatively few catches. Freebie Friday is the post where the MacNN staff find stuff that you can get, and possibly make use of this weekend, without spending a single penny. The freebies this time include a cookery-related audiobook, a game featuring a chameleon, and a way to replicate your Mac or PC's keyboard and mouse using an iOS device.

Listed items are free at the time of publication, but this may change in the future, and may not even be available for free in certain markets, so check to make sure the offer is still free before taking it.

If you like to cook, or are learning how to create basic meals for the first time, you may want to check out the Four Hour Chef Audiobook on MacNN Deals. Written by skill-hacker Tim Ferriss, the best-selling book will teach you how to speed up your acquisition of cooking skills, how to immediately improve some of your meals, and the important art of learning how to learn.

For some people, it's been a long time since they went out on a run as part of their well-intentioned New Year Resolution. Maybe it's time to jump back in the saddle, with FitApp Premium for iOS. This running app can monitor your runs and walks, tracking how far you travel, your speed, and your calorie burn, so you can see how far you have progressed.

If you have Windows installed in Boot Camp or know someone into gaming on Windows, they may want to check out One Troll Army. The developer and publisher, FlyAnvil and tinyBuild, said they would reduce the price depending on the performance of users on Twitch, with the game being made free if the developers are beaten by the viewers. After six hours, the viewers won, and the team has held up their end of the bargain, so those who game on Windows now have another free title to play.

The current Free App of the Week in the App Store is Pull My Tongue, a game where players must help feed Greg the Chameleon popcorn through 90 puzzle levels, by yanking his tongue through various obstacles.

Elsewhere in the App Store, Secret Files+ allows you to protect your documents behind Touch ID via a secret cache, Remote Mouse turns your iPhone or iPad into a remote control for your Mac or PC, and Drone Volt Pilot is an alternative control app for DJI drones that allows users to set automatic flight paths with waypoints before connecting to the quadcopter.
