Apple's official
iBookstore Twitter account accidentally retweeted and favorited a potentially offensive post on Sunday night, says
9to5Mac. "Let me suck a ____ and tell you how much I love introspective novels," the original message read. Although the post quickly disappeared from the iBookstore feed, it was up long enough for some people to complain and/or unfollow.
While Apple doesn't impose much censorship at the iBookstore, the company is normally strict about maintaining a "clean" image at the App Store and in all its marketing. The company has frequently blocked apps which have any connection to controversial content. Recently, for example, it
temporarily pulled the 500px app due to worries about images with nudity, even though any nudity on 500px is strictly non-pornographic according to the service's rules.
