Hey all, I'm also having a DVD problem on my DV SE. I recently installed OS 9.0.4 and now when I tried to play a DVD, I get loud clicking noises and my computer locks up within 5 minutes of playing the disc. Any ideas?

Sounds more like an iMac problem than a MacOS problem.
Are you sure its only since installing 9.04?
Is the clicking sound mechanical?

No, I'm pretty sure it's an os problem. I've been using the DVD player for about a year now with no problems. I just recently upgraded from os 8.6 to 9. It's a popping noise in the speakers.

Oh ok then
I thought it was something mechanical, like the CD drive or something.
Turn off the Sound Themes in the Appearance control panel.

Cipher,
I did turn off the sound themes and it's still doing the clicking. Any other ideas?
It still shuts down in the middle of the DVD, too (one I've listened to many, many times before installing OS 9.)
