Usually 1280x768 full screen or 1280x720 windowed. If there is slowdown I use Bloom and uncheck "Distant Trees" before starting the game, among other things. The game defaults at 1074x768 high settings though. Unless that setting is Windowed the screen looks stretched to me though.

FRAPS does an excellent job of making screen grabs and it's free. Let me know if you need any forum links to hints and tips/cheats for the PC.

I know a little code that will get you more money than you will ever need for buying houses, horses and stuff.

I got my MBP and I LOVE it!

I never knew how beautiful the environment is in WoW. With almost all settings turned up, I get from 35-70fps. It's awesome. I have the glossy screen and the colors are gorgeous.

MBP for the win!

I was having that issue, too. I could only change video options at the inital splash screen; going to video options after the game had loaded either crashed to the desktop or suddenly rebooted the whole machine.

After a bit of Googling I managed to get the latest ATI Catalyst drivers installed (an annoying process for a non-Windows person) and all works as expected now, except every once in a while Oblivion will crash on quit and recommend sending a report to Microsoft. This is usually after a long playing session, so I chalk it up to things just getting bogged down over time in the buffers or something.

I'm having no issues at all with HL2 or HL2:EP1 at all, except impatience at the pending release of Episode 2

Wander through the threads at Apple's Boot Camp Beta Support Discussions (this link is search results for "catalyst") for info about finding & downloading the latest ATI drivers and getting them to work.

Going through the ATI site is frustrating, as they want you to download a verifier to check compatibility (which will fail). There's a direct download link in one of the threads at Apple Support.

Solofx7 are you using Vista or XP, and what is your hardware? MBP, MBPC2D? I am using XP on C2d MBP.

i am using Microsoft XP - Legal.
I am running MacBook Pro Core2Duo
X1600 265mb.
Oblivion keeps crashing and will not even get in game.
i searched for a driver and got the latest 7.1, but it would not install as it said that it did not find compatible hardware.
I ask about Vista because i tried it and had no luck.
Either games would not install because of the new files system or the Video drivers do not support Vista fully adn thus games run like poop.
can anyone tell me what version of the drivers they are running other than what was on the boot camp disk?
is there a difference?

My ATI 1600 driver is version 8.24.0.0

ATI 3d tab shows 3D settings enabled for Direct 3D, not OpenGL.

I am taking it for granted you downloaded and made the Bootcamp driver disk which is separate from Bootcamp, correct? Just making sure we are on the same page.

I did not do any special download for the ATI driver; I just installed the Bootcamp drivers. I don't mess with my ATI 1600 at all; I don't trust myself at stuff like that. Am I right in assuming you cannot play any video intensive games with the ATI 1600 or is it just Oblivion and HL2? Can you play the Tomb Raider Legends Demo? It screams on my MBP on higher resolutions, though I haven't played it lately.

Tomb Raider: Legend

I hate to say re-install Bootcamp but I don't know what else to say if games are not making use of your ATI 1600. How much HD space do you have total in XP and how much of it is used? Also, My OSX and XP are also fully updated.
