When you plug your computer into the charger, does it emit a high pitched "whizzing" noise from the left hand side, near the speaker?

I have an open case with Apple Executive Relations and I just got it back (unfixed) for the 5th time. I am wondering what I should do next.

Keep escalating, write a letter complete with description of symptoms and all actions taken via AppleCare (with case #s).

How did it come to this? Goodbye PowerPC. | sensory output

I can't escalate any more and I really don't need to. I just feel like I'm wasting Apple's and my own time by repeatedly sending this thing in for something that might never get fixed. I think they might just send me a new computer if I say it still exists. I just wanted to make sure there are Apple's that do not make this noise.

What RAM do you have? Try removing the non-original RAM and see what happens.

With that many times, you can request a new computer, especially if you are already at the top-tier AppleCare. That's what they do. All you have to do is ask for one and justify it (and five times is justification enough).

Yeah and I think it is at that point. I just wanted to make sure I'm not being a pain in the butt with all I'm putting them through only to find that the problem is normal. I guess it isn't!

Funny, my attitude when I bought my Titanium in for the 6th time was to see the embarrasment on the genius guys faces. When the screen on my Powerbook 17" was not fixed for the 3rd time they gave me a new upgraded one free of charge. You have no reason whatsoever to feel embarrased when you bring a product in for the same problem; THEY DO. You should have gotten your new unit on the 3rd failed attempt at repair. The Genius even TOLD me before hand that on the third consecutive time if the same problem is not resolved I get a free NEW laptop. Buddy, you need some backbone. Don't settle for less, but be courteous, look disappointed and be persistant. You new laptop is just around the corner. Trust me.

My Macbook Pro makes no unusual sounds at all, just the fan gets noisy with 3d games, no biggy with me though.

Same, no buzzing or whining noises coming from my MBP C2D, only loud fan woosh with 3D or other intensive work, and I'd be worried if the fans didn't run fast during those times.
MBP 2.16ghz 15"
iMac G5 1.6Ghz 17"

The only unusual noise my MacBook Pro makes is when sometimes I plug headphones in and I get a static-sounding noise.

Other than that, my MacBook pro makes no other weird noises. Try updating the firmware?
The Mac Collection:

Power Mac G4 Sawtooth at 450MHz, Power Mac G4 Gigabit Ethernet at 400MHz, three Power Mac FW800's at 1.0GHz, MacBook Pro at 2.0GHz, my late father's G3 iMac at 350MHz, an iMac at 500MHz, a PowerBook G4 (12-inch VGA) and a PowerBook 170
