Probably do to the fact that my significant other dropped it. Now over the years I've been able to pretty much tune up by ear because I have pretty decent "perfect pitch" But intonation with the guitar is a bit harder to do without one.

Anyhow, I am way to get a new set of strings yesterday and ran across this tuner

It had everything I needed and then some. I love the Boss/Roland products, and I got it cheap for $69.

Best tuner ever. Well almost as accurate as a strobe tuner. But those don't do too well on stage.

I've used an Arion Stage Tuner for about ten years: it's a stomp box so it's easily accessible (convenient for quick tuning between tunes). It's cheap (about $30). It's accurate. It's not very sturdy (but since you aren't banging on it, that's no problem). Best part: the LEDs are bright enough for any stage environment (and the green LED lights alone when you're in tune so you don't really have to "read" anything).

This Boss tuner has a sound that goes off when you are in tune.

I am in the process of designing a pedalboard for my effects and such.

This will fit on there nicely.

Good tuner, there. I picked one up a couple of months ago - but for $40

We both got good deals considering it retails for over $100.

Your ear isn't always in tune all the time. Not even people with perfect pitch.

Ear and tuning fork (or guitar pitch-pipe) have worked for me for a long time. Plus noting the note relationships on the different strings has helped me when I've gotten overtones confused for real notes (yes I am a bit audio-dyslexic).

Still on a late 80's TU-12.
Got a couple of tuners built into some Korg/Vox stuff I have but they're nowhere near as accurate as the Boss, so I don't use them.

Check out the Boss BCB-60. Quite sweet and should fit your stuff easily - will easily customise to take a wah and non-Boss stuff.

Dude, you HAVE to get a Pedaltrian -- it's been the BEST pedal board I have ever owned in my 20+ years of gigging:

I could probably make one as good for cheaper.

I have done it before.

Pedal board construction can be a satisfying project. But as a few years go by - at least for me - pedals come and go, arrangements change, etc... and the pedal board that was just right a few years ago is now unsuitable for my usage today. I've been doing a bunch of acoustic work recently, so my pedal board needs aren't so pressing at the moment, but I'm considering a solid board setup similar to what Maury posted above.

Definitely post a photo or two of your creation.

Customs are nice, and can be built for a lot less. I guess it depends on how much traveling you do -- and since I do a LOT with all my gear, I needed a flight-ready case. The other sweet thing about the Pedaltrain is that it's a blank slate: you can anything anywhere as close or as far apart. You can angle, offset, you name it. The design also lets you keep the cable pushed under so things look "neater."

I will, and yes it will be made so any pedal can fit.

That is why my old board is no longer useful to me.

Only had 3 pedal slots.

I have my own power supply

Again.. it makes it harder to adjust the Intonation of the guitar properly.

Heck a lot of guitarists will say you aren't REALLY in tune unless you use a strobe tuner.
