after giving it way too much thought i finally ordered my DP2.3 last night. i checked and the DP2.5 is no longer available (not refurbished either) here, so there wasn't a choice. it feels a bit like a gamble with the Paris Expo this close, but the Keynote was cancelled so i don;t expect anything spectaculair.

as my current machine (TiBook 1G, no SuperDrive) is completely stretched to the limit I can't wait to have my new machine here.

ordered the 20" ACD with it, the Dell discounts on their 20" and 24" have expired making the difference on the 20" €80.

Thanks! I'm sure that I'll be crazy about it...

Now I'm stuck reloading the Order Status page a zillion times a day to wait and see when Apple has cleared my payment!

Now starts the waiting!

I order a Dual 2.5 from MacMall last night as well. Since I ended up phoning to get a question answered, my order isn't (won't) show up via the Web. I need to call for status. I think I'll wait until Monday before I call again.

Since I ordered the 2.5 I'll be able to re-use my ADC monitor, and can wait to decide on a new display.

Now to look for an additional SATA internal drive!

You'll beat me to it! My payment was messed up (my own fault)... have to wait for the money to come back to me before I can revive the order.

Yeah - and I see that CompUSA stores have a Hitachi DeskStar 160GB SATA drive for $39.00 after rebate! I'm not a huge fan of the DeskStar units, but $39.00 is pretty cheap.

MacMall says my system shipped Friday, but as of today they can't give me a UPS tracking number...

Thanks,

I would not buy a deskstar. (deathstar)

your data is just too important to go cheap. 5 years warr. my friend who is in IT really likes seagate for that reason.

Yeah, that is what I'm chewing on. I've had to replace two Deskstars in the last 6 years.
Of course, all my backup hard drives (I do a hard drive backup rotation for my home network) are Seagate drives.

Maybe I'll just wait for a decent priced Seagate SATA drive.

Thanks!

Not sure it's any use to you, but Fry's had the Seagate 300GB in SATA for $119 this past weekend...

Hmm... - I guess I'm holding out for something smaller/cheaper - in the 160-250 range and under $100.00 (gotta stop spending somewhere!)

Thanks for pointing it out.

Looks like a lot of us went for the dual 2.5 deals.

I also am planning on putting a larger SATA drive in the second drive position.

Pretty happy with it so far.

Yep.

Mine is supposed to arrive Thursday. For some reason (supposedly "security") MacMall won't give out the UPS tracking number if you ordered over the phone. You can call, and hear them clicking over to the UPS site to get the info. Sigh. Trying to ignore it. UPS doesn't seem to have a way to ask that they hold the package for pick-up at the local UPS counter (especially without the #*@#%#&! tracking number....)

argh! i hope they deliver your DP2.5 soon... the anguish of waiting

my payment has still not been retrieved. apple told me it takes 5-7 business days for BIBIT to track the payment which means it can take until next week before my order goes through. worst case, i have to wait another few days for my payment to be returned before i can reorder

edit 09/16: my payment has been returned to my account! today will bring renewed "Apple Ordering Joy!"

Good luck with the re-order!

Mine arrived last night. Gotta love that new computer smell!

It arrived with 10.3.7 installed, but with the Tiger DVD in the box.
