re my new G5, the guy who set it up for me installed office (word) 2004. he later installed word X, i.e. the prior version, to see if that would run faster (i'm the guy complaining about how slow word is in X)
so now i have them both on my mac. is that ok? or do i NEED to trash the older version?
one reason i ask is cuz i was recording macros fine in both newer and older word, trying them out, etc., but then, once i opted to just use 2004, suddenly it wouldn't let me record new macros. (anyone know what THAT might be about? or what it takes to fix it?)
the macros had been recording fine, and then, after switching back and forth, now i can record macros in the older word, but no longer in the newer
thanks!

Having v.X installed, then installing 2004 over it resulted in some weird crashes for me that weren't present in a clean 2004 install, but that may be specific to my comp/settings.
