What is up with all these self-proclaimed "Official" threads? They're just threads, people. Plain old regular run-of-the-mill type threads. The kind of threads that get started by you, me, Jim down the block or by Billy when he's over at Jim's house because Jim's mom also happens to make wicked great mac 'n cheese.
If you're not a mod, aka a MacNN official, knock it off with the "Official" threads. They only thing that's official about them is that they are officially lame.

I agree, I've quickly grown tired of these so called official threads. Besides people don't always stick those threads and post new ones that could be in the official ones thus defeating the main purpose.

Are you guys complaining about official OS X related threads, or threads that I enjoy creating such as "the official oatmeal thread"? The thing is, if I created an oatmeal thread that wasn't official, I'm afraid that nobody would pay attention to it and it would not get the attention it deserves. If you like, I could use the word "extreme" instead, i.e. "the extreme oatmeal thread"
How about "the extreme official oatmeal thread"?

How about "the extreme official oatmeal thread"?
Just go with replacing official with extreme. Not both.

I like official threads. They are great. My Official Popcorn Thread was a Great Thread IMO, very informative and community and relationship building.
