I'd like to look at something other than a big pile of sand throughout the course of the day.

Are there any really cool dynamic desktops available for macOS? (I know a few linux distros already have some.)

I just have a giant folder of images and it's set to shuffle thru them.

And all of them are dynamic images that change with the daylight?

That's true. This feature is one of the big changes to Mojave and there is basically only one image (solar gradients don't count). Kind of boring.

The dynamic pics are .heic multi-shot image files. Preview can open and show them, with 15 or 16 snaps per file. (There are 16 snaps, but one appears to be a cover image.)

However, Preview was unwilling to edit. I copied them to the desktop for the editing attempt. I could not insert or delete individual snaps, much less drag new ones in.
