She's a mutt, half austrailian shepard, and half mystery dog. 5 months old in a couple days. She's pretty freaking smart.... we've had her for 2 weeks, and she knows sit, lay down, shake, other paw, roll over, stay, stand, come, and drop it. Anyway, I'm posting these pics cuz she's cute, and I know Cody Dog will love them. I named her Laika, after the Russian cosmonaut space doggy.
Peace,
- Rob

Ok lets not make this a big discussion but in banning Rob for the past 5 years has it helped one bit? No, within' 5 minutes he is back with a new user name. So what did it accomplish? All it shows is that the mods are pretty much powerless in this situation and it adds more and more "number of members" when they are mostly just rob.
Rob, just try to behave, stay out of any thread discussing cars and horsepower.

The number of banned members (including the Robs) is trivial compared to the overall number. Furthermore, we routinely go through and remove members from the database that have been registered for a long time and have no posts. The number of truly active people is much, much smaller than the total number of registered folks, and that's fine.

Ok that's fine, nobody cares about that much anyway. But that still doesn't answer what banning him for 5 years does. Nothing.

Permaban means permanent ban. That means that any re-registration is ban evasion.

That's your call, but it's definitely a valid one. Losing a dog really is a horrible experience, and many people who go through it once decide that the joys of having a dog just aren't worth the pain of losing the dog in the end. That's a valid conclusion to come to, and it's not my place or intent to criticize your decision.
That said, it's not the conclusion to came to. I lost a dog three years ago (to within a month, now that I think about it), and it really was hard. But I think it's worth it to get another dog, even if that last part really sucks. That's why my wife and I are getting a papillon on Saturday.
Yes, there will be pics.

Kids are great also. Till they die.
So what happens to animals when they die? Animal heaven?

The difference is that kids usually live more than 15 years. Animals don't have souls. No heaven.

Ya well usually isn't good enough. Plenty of kids die at a young age.
Personally I think my animals have souls. If heaven doesn't have animals I don't want to go.

Well of course you wouldn't. Heaven is not about what pleasures we find here on earth, but about glorifying God. If you don't value that then there's no reason to want to go to heaven, if not to escape from hell.

Oh no, we are NOT letting this derail into a religious debate. Focus on the pictures of the cute puppy, people!
That being said, cute dog! I'm personally more of a cat person, but congrats on the dog anyway! Oh, and I'd never get a animal that wasn't either from a humane society or bred by a friend (ie kittens that need a home).

Alright I'll take purgatory then. I don't want to die only to find out i have to glorify someone for all eternity.
I'll just wander the earth playing with animals and sneaking into mens locker rooms.

No idea what combo of breeds that dog looks like, but it's the right size. My last dog (before grad school) was 130 lbs. and all feet. She was gentle enough, but too prone to "big dog" health problems.

Tell that to tooki. I was fine for a few years barely getting banned until a bug crawled up tooki's ass and he suddenly without any rhyme or reason decided to start enforcing 'ban evasion'. When questioning which ban he was enforcing, he cannot provide an answer. So I have no idea why I'm banned. As for my other bannings, it's because I don't respect the original ban (which was a religious debate, in which other people said things much worse than me). So far he's lost, as I will always come back if I feel like it.

Seriously, you're one to talk about posting with your head and ripping on people. FYI I've been here since '01, I remember your original 'blow me' post where you 'left.' Too bad it never stuck. I just registered since the database messed up and lost my registration from April, which replaced my old username that I didn't like.
But sorry for forgetting that post count=god.

Congrats, and good for you for the rescue. All of our pets have been rescues. Three dogs and four cats (so far). It is really tough to lose them. A true pet becomes part of the family.
