Looking to upgrade the HD in my MBP (Rev.A). Anyone done this before? Is it any easier or harder than my old PB12"? Does anyone have instructions? Thanks.

I did the upgrade last week using the ifixit guide.

All in all much easier the the 12 inch g4. If I remember that particular upgrade, it felt like you had to pry it apart because of all the stupid plastic tabs Apple used in it.

My 15 mbp on the other hand easily dissasembled after I removed the screws. Took about 20 minutes.

I used super duper to clone my hard drive to an external USB first. then replaced my internal drive with the seagate 160 gb, booted up off the external drive and used super duper to clone it back. Couldn't have been easier.
15" Macbook Pro 1.83 2 GB RAM
Blackbook 13.3 Powerhouse 2 GB RAM
MacMini Dual Core 2 GB RAM (Sadly running Windows Most of the time)
Numerouse Workstations running windows and Linux. Sorry don't have the specs, I don't pay much attention to them anymore. :)

BkueKanoodle, I wanted to upgrade the hd as well. Just have a few questions,

With super duper, I do not have to reinstall any of the programs after cloning the disk image from the backup disk to the hd? Will the settings in OS X be preserved?

Thanks.
we are all part of a masterplan.

I did an HD upgrade on my 15" 1.5 PB. I browsed through the iFixit guide that JKT posted and it seems much easier to do on the MBP. It took me over an hour to do on my PB.

Any recommendations for a hard drive? I'm not quite sure what fits in the MBP.

OWC and MCE both offer various solutions.
