I have over 50 jazz cassette tapes, where I'd like to select various music tracks and record onto my G3 Pwrbk.
Last night I got my Cassette Player (actually my wife's; from HiFi System 70's style) hooked up the the G3, only it goes from to RCA cables into one input on G3. I used a shareware programme 'Recordit' and ending up getting Mono file, imported into Quicktime and got Stereo file, I'm not sure that this is the best quality any ideas?

i'm not too familiar with Recordit, but the software does allow you to record stereo files, right? if so, the reason you might be getting monofile is the cable you are using. i'm assuming the cable you have is a stereo RCA male jacks-->mono 1/8" male jack. the jack that plugs into your powerbook needs to have a stereo 1/8" male jack. the way you can distinguish the jacks is that the mono jack has one black ring that goes around the jack, and the stereo jack has two black rings around the jack.
good luck,
tr

Thanks TR,
I'll have to look at the Plugs tonight when I get home, got them at RadioShack not very expensive.
