Hey gang,
I posted last week about an iMac DV SE that was dead (only a green LED on startup). For the record, it's from the Summer of 2000 not 2002 as I incorrectly put it in my original post.

So...I had the shop look into the analog board. It was bad so they replaced it. But when they booted it, they would get video for an instant and then the picture would shrink vertically. Yup, a bum CRT. Apparently this hardly ever happens so I was unfortunate.

The techs figured the CRT took the analog board with it on its way out. Stupid CRT....

CRT $150, analog board $210 and $112.50 for labor...about as much fun as a visit to the dentist...

Thanks for your pointers and comments.

Peter
