I'm looking for Jamie Oliver's hummus recipe (someone else made it the other day and it was really good but I lost the recipe). If anyone has the relevant book could they give me the ingredients/proportions. I guess you just shove everything in the blender.
If anyone else has a great hummus recipe, share it!

You called?
Ingredients:
350g chickpeas, soaked overnight
1 small dried red chilli
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds or ground cumin
salt, pepper
1 clove of garlic, peeled
1 1/2 tablespoon tahini (sesame seed paste)
extra virgin olive oil, about 4 tablespoons
lemon juice to taste
Rinse the chickpeas. Cover with water and cook for about 1 1/2 hours or until very tender. Drain, saving some of the cooking water.
In a pestle and mortar pound the chilli and cumin wih some salt. In a food processor chop the garlic, then add the chickpeas, chilli, cumin and tahini and pulse until smooth. Add more salt, pepper, oil and lemon juice to taste. If its too thick add a little of the cooking water.
Enjoy.

Thanks Mastrap - how did I know it would be you that came to the rescue
I think I'll substitute the chickpeas for a tin of ready-to-go chickpeas, and we'll have to make do with a fresh chilli, but I think it should be DELICIOUS!
MacNN is so useful sometimes

And you'd know that how exactly? You're a regular guest at his house? I've eaten at a do he catered for and I say, that boy can cook.
He trained at the "River Cafe". You don't survive there if you haven't got talent.

Well this post wasn't at all inevitable.
Granted, he might be a bit of a wally, but his hummous is great. I just made it, and it's yummy. Mastrap, I wish you were here to taste it! I used the juice of 2 lemons, it needs it.

He's no kitchen genious is all I'm saying, he can make simple stuff well, but that's all I'll give him. We're all entitled to an opinion here I think.

Of course you are. I just question the substance behind your opinion. I.e I think if you knew more about him you'd probably revise your opinion.

...and that's why he's a great (TV) chef.
You need a person who can either a) cook things everyone would like, using everyday ingredients, while injecting some enthusiasm (which he does well) or b) lick your fingers like Nigella Lawson can.
Either way you are trying to appeal to the largest possible audience.

Nigella has the most fantastic body, wonderful breasts, luscious hips...
My gf just doesn't understand.
Hard to comprehend who her Father is/was...
Hasn't she lost some weight recently? Like Sophia Dahl, she also looked better when slightly 'fuller'...
