Buddy somehow broke down his gate and got into the house while my wife and I were out, and he managed to get into her medication... we came home and he was all goofy, his eyes were messed up and we rushed him to the vet. I'm pretty much a basket case, and for any of those who are religious, or even if you are not, say a prayer for my pup.
Tears. Gotta go.

To heck with praying, pump his stomach, it will do a much better job.
I hope he gets well though.
Do you know what meds he ate?

Thank you all for your kind words.
He ingested Diamox. It is medication often used for altitude sickness by mountain climbers, but my wife takes it for her PTC. (Pseudo Tumor Cerebri). It releives the pressure that builds up in her brain with cerebral spinal fluid, causing terrible headaches. Sometimes people suffer blindness, if not treated. He ate, we think, two of them. I can't figure out how he got the container open. I have enough troubles with those damn things.
It was too late to pump his stomach, but they are giving him potasium via IV. He is currently in Keto Acidosis, and the told us the half-life of the medication is 6 hours. We'll know more in the morning. I can't believe how devistated I was/am. All your well wishes/prayers are greatly appreciated.
For those that say "forget the prayers etc." I'm not a christian scientist. I believe in prayer, but the power of medicine. I'm a "stack the deck" kind of guy.
For the one who asked for video or pictures. How about this? Go get drunk on Champaigne, Beer, and Tequila. Take pictures, and videotape your own as-s. Loser. U Suck.

He's about 10 months old. A friend found him sitting in the rain on a stree corner when he was about 6 weeks old, he was abandoned. She thought of me, brought him to my work and I took him immediately. There was a line of people just to pet him. The kicker? He peed in my boss' office.
He's a great dog. Very loving. Now I'm getting upset again... Damn.

He peed in my boss' office.
see you proved my point. dogs are a good judge of people.
he's just a pup. he'll recover and be back to chewing up the stuff you leave on the
floor for him. shoes, remote controls, newspapers..etc.

You're either very young, or very dumb. Probably a bad combination of the two. Go away.

He used to live on the streets, eh? That explains why he went for the drugs first, whereas most other dogs would've raided your cupboards for food.
Seriously though, I hope he pulls through it with no permanent damage.

My prayers go out to your pup, that he will fully recover. Also that your vet will have wisdom as he treats him. Having a pet in trouble is devastating, they are after all part of the family.

It's amazing what some dogs interpret as edible. A co-worker's pup ate a brand new box of 100 thumbtacks last spring. That dog pulled through OK, I hope yours does too.

Our Pom got into some mouse poison last summer... We fed her Hydrogen Peroxide and she regurgitated it all up. I know the trouble you are going through... Hopefully your dog will be ok!!!!

He's going to be fine. My pocketbook on the other hand... (I don't really care.) He's alive, and licking everyone at the vet's office. They love him.
Thanks for all the well wishes. Even quandarry.

Glad to hear he is okay.
Even though I may disagree with your religious and political views, I can still completely understand how horrible it is to have your pet be seriously ill.
I can't believe how immature some people here are being. Just because you disagree with someone doesn't mean you have to be mean to them and their dog.

I'm going to be putting up some pup photos this evening. Show you all this incredible little pup. "Little", he's more like a small german shepard. I truely think he is a gift to us, though we just paid for him I think, he is worth every penny. I just have to budget tight this month so we can pay our bills. Looks like peanut butter and jelly. (Maybe just peanut butter...
